Hello Cake!
So I finally downloaded and installed Cake and got their rakeback and am ready to pluck away at their 500$ bonus. Of course, it all started with a -45BB losing session. Oh well, unfortunately I had to take it out on my husband a bit, which I didn’t intend. Lots of profuse apologizing later. Anyway, I can’t complain, because I’ve had a phenomenal March in terms of poker, so I don’t get why I get so frustrated with one stupid night.
Anyway, I am still discovering the intricacies of Cake, but I’m learning that I have gotten quite accustomed to the HUD. I can still review my sessions and stuff with the HH converter from 2+2, but I’ve gotten so lazy to gather any real reads. Yeah, tendencies are fine, but reads… gah, more work. It also took me a few hands to get familiar with seats, buttons and everything, so that might have been a reason for the first few -BB. Anyway, their store sucks, but I wasn’t attracted to Cake because of those items anyway. Their FFP structure and bonus payout is very similar to Full Tilt, so I had no problems assessing the clearing of my bonus (a long time…).
How’s the play? Actually not that bad. There are a few maniacs and some random calling stations, but I was a bit sad that the games were not that soft. Don’t get me wrong, you can still make tons of money there at the 1/2 6max tables and with the 33% rakeback it looks like a done deal, but it wasn’t as fishy as some others have said. I guess the rumors of the last few months are true that the fishiness has leaked and now it’s a bunch of people clearing bonuses like me. Oh well, could be worse.
I got my name on the pokercast this week. Wahoo! So happy! I guess, that’s what’s new with my poker life, Commerce maybe this weekend, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Heard your name on the cast also, thought that was cool. I too recently installed cake and am doing rakeback also. I like some of the features and have noticed a few software issues but overall I like it. Last night I qualified for the $150,000 guaranteed on April 5th in a $6.50 rebuy tourney. 2 seats given and I was fortunate to finish top 2. My first attempt at rakeback, we shall see how that goes.
