E-pass is passe

Just 2 days ago I used e-passporte for transferring money between sites to get 600$ to Poker Stars to get that new bonus they had. I guess I was lucky. E-passporte will no longer accept and transfer money to and from poker sites. They pulled out.  I find their motivation understandable, but their timing is weird. Is something to come in the world of online poker / UIGEA? Or is this just a random event in an online poker players career?

I would’ve thought after the hearings in November and last week that congress would slowly but surely realize that online poker was here to stay and that the UIGEA was going to be repelled soon (not as soon as Barry Greenstein was happy to predict, but eventually). But maybe those hearings propelled the UIGEA back into people’s minds: “they’re still playing!” And e-pass didn’t need the bad publicity, perhaps?

It’s not that bad. I used e-pass to deposit to a poker site ONCE, paid those ridiculous fees once and now I have enough money around a lot of poker sites, because it never cost anything to deposit or withdraw from those. So getting the money to and from the sites won’t be a problem (e-checks other e-wallets), but that easy transferring capability for relatively small amounts will start to be difficult. sigh!

Anyway, just venting, but it sucks!

You can check out this site too, it’s getting pretty popular.

lets you transfer money between sites. I hated epassporte anyway, they froze $100 from me and never let me get the money back for no reason.

I know what you mean. The fees were awful. The only reason I paid them was to be able to transfer money from one site to another easily. I just got hit with the yearly fees last week and now I have no use for Epassporte, and if I want my money out of my account I have to pay them another fee on top of that. It just stinks.
