The Biggest Slowroll Ever

Have been contemplating that crazy ideer to delay the WSOP ME final table three friggin’ months Stewman told us about on Friday. Don’t know about you, but it sorta feels to me like that long wait for a resolution amounts to one big ol’ slowroll. And who likes being subject to that?

Busy week over at Hard-Boiled. On Monday, I talked about making that final push to grab my Silver Star over on PokerStars in a post titled “A New Sheriff in Town.” (That’s the one that features a highly embarrassing picture of me as a two-year-old cowboy.) Had to play a bunch of hands over last weekend to get there, so many that I didn’t feel too much like playing during the week. By Friday I was writing about how I’ve found myself only wanting to play brief sessions, in a post titled “The Loneliness of the Short Distance Runner.”

On Tuesday, I posted “The Hard-Boiled Poker Radio Show, Episode 1: Dead Man’s Deal.” (Wrote about that here as well.) Figured April Fool’s Day was as good a day as any to start something like that. Leaves me an out, anyhow . . . . As I said before, if anyone happens to check it out, I’d love to hear what ya think.

Middle of the week was taken up with that House hearing to discuss implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. Wrote a preview on Wednesday morning — “Harboring Hope for House Hearing” — then a fairly lengthy recap of the thing, “UIGEA Regs: Burden without Benefit? Without a Doubt.” All in all a decent day for opponents of what Barney Frank has called “one the stupidest laws ever passed.”

Only other post last week was Thursday’s response to something I heard on the Wise Hand Poker podcast: “Sunshine & Lollipops.” The issue there concerned whether or not those who cover poker need consider the fact that a lot of folks out there just plain don’t like poker.
