MY SECOND CHIMPS Tourney

So I just finished playing the NLH w/rebuys event on the CHIMPS poker series. Out of 25 runners and 73 re-buys and add-ons I finished 2nd losing to Zerbet. I didn’t rebuy and did the add-on so I was only in for $3. I won $22.54 for a profit of $19.54. I played well, trapped successfully and of course got lucky.

Nice lucky hand right here in some blind vs. blind action. I knew guy was strong preflop and on the flop but no way I’m folding the straight flush draw with 2 overs (even though that didn’t matter). He wasn’t too happy after this hand. Would anyone else have folded this draw?

Then this hand came up. It folded to me and I contemplated raising since I hate limping but thought I’ll hopefully see a flop for cheap which I ended up doing.

My purpose for going all in was I’d hope he thought I was on a flush draw or if he was, he be playing for all his chips.

Then this gem happened. I had been raising about 2 hands an orbit at this point (with good cards) and thought I could trap someone with this hand, that is why I limped. I couldn’t have asked for a better hand.

This set the stage for me to coast into the Final Table. I think I was 3rd or 4th at the final table. Got to 3 way play and I survived an all in with the best hand of course and eventually Gambit727 busted out when I sucked out on him and hit my 3 outer

This left Zerbet and myself. I was glad this was my heads-up opponent because I personally can’t stand this guy. Only played 2 tournament’s with him but that is more than enough for me to get a negative impression of this guy. Likes to talk trash and really not that impressed with his play. Anyways, I won’t spend more time discussing this donkey.

Zerbet wasn’t the most gracious winner but what can you do and besides it wasn’t for big stakes or anything. I think I played well and ran lucky which is what you need in tourney’s. 2 CHIMPS tournaments and 2 final tables, I’ll see if I can keep it up next week in the Stud 8 tourney. I have never played a stud 8 tourney but have played more than a few horse tourney’s so I feel comfortable at it but by no means am I great at the game.
