My ATMs and my DonkeyTest score

Is there any better feeling in the world than sitting at a table with a couple of players who you just know are going to pay you off big at some point in the near future? I had that indescribable feeling during my last session of .05/.10 NLHE 6 max on Full Tilt.

My ATMs went by the names of “peterich” and “omilon.” I don’t know what either of these words mean but I will be sure to seek them out during my next session. “peterich” literally limped in to every single pot. I repeat: EVERY SINGLE POT. Limp, limp, limp, limp. It was beautiful. He also min bet every flop, which was simply bizarre. He never folded on the flop or turn (ever) but if you displayed strength early in the hand, he would fold to every river bet. “omilon” was a typical novice who never folded and overplayed marginal hands.

There are three hands that really stand out. The first hand went down like a lot of hands you see in micro limit games where AK may as well be the nuts. “peterich” limped and “omilon” min raised to .20. I was in the SB with AA and popped it to $1. It folded to “omilon” who quickly re-popped to $2.10. I shipped for my last $8.35 and he insta-called with AK offsuit. The board bricked and I had officially identified one of the two fish at the table.

The second hand against “omilon” went down in a way I would never have played against any other player. I was in the BB with J9 (my favorite hand for some reason). “peterich” and “omilon” both limped and I checked. The flop came down 923 with two clubs. I bet out and “omilon” called. At this point, I am fully intended to check-raise any non club turn. The T of spades hit. I checked, he bet, I shipped. This is obviously a marginal play on my part, and as I said I wouldn’t play a hand this way against too many other players. He called with Ks7s. Don’t ask me how he called my flop bet with king-high and a back door flush draw (he certainly wasn’t advanced enough to understand the concept of floating). I took down another nice pot.

Finally, the piece de resistance (or whatever) came against “peterich.” This always limped, always min bet the flop, and never ever folded. It was uncanny. So I knew he was going to get stacked eventually and I wanted to be the one to do it. With A9 in the BB and three limper, I checked my option. The flop came down a beautiful AQ9 rainbow. “peterich” min bet and I raised to $1. To my elation, he called. When the 9s hit the turn, giving me a boat, I knew this would be the hand. I checked the turn, hoping he would min bet or something else completely donkish. He didn’t and we saw a Kh river. I couldn’t give him credit for KK, and I was going broke on the hand anyway, so I bet the pot, he minraised and I shipped it. He called with KQ. Don’t know what he could have been hoping I had. Tough to call of all your chips with middle two on a paired board, but he found a way. Moral of the story: I love ATMs. They are great for my bankroll.

Does anybody else have any good stories about simply awful players who just gave you money?

In other news, I took the DonkeyTest that loser64 posted. I suggest everyone take it because it really is quite interesting. I scored a 110, making me a “Low Stakes Winner.” Not bad for a micro donk.

I’ll have that revelation every now & then at a table regarding a certain player. If anyone is within earshot, he/she will oftentimes hear me talking to the computer screen, saying something about how desperately that player wants to give me his/her chips. (Gotta be careful, of course . . . sometimes those “suckers” have done a good job putting out a false image.)

Gonna take that there Donkey Test and see if I have a clue . . . .
