Focused attention yields results
I was about to go to bead Friday night and then I decided to play the $22 bounty tourney on Cake. $10 goes into the prize pool, $10 towards a bounty that you get whenever you knock out a player. Historically I have done pretty well in this thing, if you consider 6-7 attempts history.
So I fire up the iPod and the binaural beat recording for focus, in fact this exact one, click here. Well I was really focused and I played well. It’s funny how I just posted yesterday about it and then I use it the next day and did well. I was evaluating each decision and managing my risk very well when I was an average stack. Oh, and when I got my money in, the hands held up. Funny how whenever I do well that’s always the case, I guess I have been known to suck out once in a while too. So anyway, I finished 2nd out of 260 that started it paid $416. Heads up my opponent turned 2 pr to my top pair and I was crippled. Oh well, anything can happen and that’s not so out of the ordinary. I win lots of Sklansky bucks that I can spend at the “Sklansky store of stuff that doesn’t really exist.”
I also knocked out 14 people for an extra $140. I didn’t worry at all about knocking people out, I actually played tighter that I normally would early on in the tourney. I think that this is an effective strategy, I have played this thing about 6 or 7 times and I have finished 2nd, 3rd, and somewhere in the 16th area.
