CHIMPS PLO tourney
So last night myself and 19 others played in the CHIMPS PLO tourney on FTP. $5.50 buy-in. This was only my 2nd PLO tourney ever and it showed. I won’t be modest, I was a luckbox last night in the vain of Jamie Gold. Multiple times I knew I was behind on the flop and sucked out on the turn or river. I made a straight on turn after I got it all in with set over set, then rivered 2 full houses to beat a flopped straight and flush. I Made quad nines 1 hand after guy turned nut flush. Got a little unlucky when I flopped a Q high flush and guy flopped the nut flush. Anyways after building a huge stack I entered the final table with over 10k in chips with 2nd have a little over 5k. Top 5 got paid and I played like a donk and finished 5th for $9, a profit of $3.50. I learned a lot actually about the game last night especially about the betting. The last hand I knew I was beat on the flop but still pushed. Button limps and sb completes and I have AAxx I think with 1 suit. Long story short I raise the pot and they both call. Flop comes 1087 and I know I’m beat thinking someone has j9. I bet, get raised, then reraised and I push my last $1600 in or so and they turn over 96 for straight and top set. I was out and I think there was a bounty on me because I entered the FT as CL but not sure. I played with fellow sifter loser64 (not sure who that is here) and he finished a nice 3rd I believe. He knew what he was doing obv. Overall a lot of fun and a learning experience.

I was planning to play last night but I have only played PLO once and I wasn’t confident enough in my game. I honestly thought I may embarrass myself.. (haha). I read up on PLO yesterday before I left work and then I went home and tried a PLO cash game. When my straight lost to a full house and I honestly thought I had the best hand I knew I was in over my head. So I skipped CHIMPS (watched you guys a little though) and opted for LHE cash game and a SNG. I finshed 2nd in the SNG and doubled my buy-in in the cash game and called it a night…
Maybe we should consider starting a Full Tilt Sifters tournament league or whatever.. I’m not sure what it takes to set one up.. just a thought.
Well I embarrassed myself as many people clowned on me at the first table. I have even made some blogs and forums with the play from last night. It appears I knocked Scott out from Ante Up last night and didn’t realize it.

haha.. “a guy” that’s classic. I had to refer back to the ante up blog to see who I was playing against when I first started playing this year.. that’s too funny.
