Three Card Brag
A few friends of mine have decided to start playing three and five card brag at our weekly homegame. Two games and hundreds of dollars later I have concluded that i need a little help.
Does anyone know anything about this game and how to play it well? I know the basic rules, by i need to know how to play the game well.
How do I get myself into these situations?
So last Tuesday I am sitting in a bar waiting for a business contact to show up. The idea was that we meet at the bar and discuss doing business together. Afterwards we would take part in the free poker game that the bar offers. To be clear the person I am supposed to be meeting with owns the bar that I am sitting in. As the hours go by I order a little dinner and I play in the first poker tournament of the evening. I lose as I go all in with pocket 10s and I get called by pocket 8s. After I get busted out I decided that the owner is not going to show and I get ready to pay my tab and leave. Reaching into my pocket I realize that I have no cash on me. The next logical step was to use my check card to pay the bill. As luck would have it using my check card was impossible.
The Super Friends
I have recently come across an interesting situation at the tables. Being a friendly person I tend to make friends with the people I am sitting next to. I have noticed that in doing this the players to my left and right begin to talk to me about the habits and styles of the other players at the table and sometimes they even talk about their own habits. In particular they like to talk about the players at the opposite end of the table.
“That guy has been aggressive all night”
“Last time he had two pair he did the same thing”
2008 from the felt
Well here we are headed into the New Year and just like last year I am starting things off broke. My poker roll has been destroyed, I have no car insurance…again, my license plate are expired, I have several people demanding the money that I owe them, I am tired, I am hungry, I have been very sick lately and I have a girlfriend that hates poker. 2008 is going to ROCK!
