Missing Poker.. And New Online Cash Out Options
I just returned from 8 days in Shanghai, China.. which was quite the experience to say the least. My brother was marrying his Chinese bride and we all flew out for the celebration. If you ever happen to find yourself on a plane to China.. a few tips: Don’t travel in the summer- insane humidity- worse than Florida- and the pollution didn’t help, pack snacks- the novelty of the food took 5 days to wear off- I would have paid $100 for a cheeseburger on day 6, pack tissues, and don’t plan on driving while there- traffic rules are merely a suggestion and do not apply.
Atlantic City and The Eternal Question.. East Coast vs West Coast
Today I’m blogging from NJ. I am a New Jersey native.. born and raised in South Jersey. My boyfriend moved here in High School and that’s actually when we met. His twin is marrying an elementary school friend of mine this weekend so we’re both staying with our folks.. anytime I visit my mom I have no choice but to travel the 30 minutes down the Parkway to Atlantic City.
Weekend Vegas Trip Part 2
On Saturday we woke up around 12pm and went down for breakfast around 1pm. We decided we would check out the Rio and then try to get into a 7pm tournament at Planet Hollywood.
Weekend Vegas Trip Part 1
For some reason, I haven’t been in the mood to post in awhile- despite having resent success on Poker Stars. However, we took our first weekend trip out to Vegas on 6/6-6/8 after moving to LA.. so I asked around and found the best time to leave on Friday would be after rush hour.. so we hung out til about 7:15 and couldn’t wait any longer so we hit the road. It was an easy drive that took a little under 4 hours (probably with the excitement I drove a little faster than I should have in my Jeep)… and gas wasn’t too too horrible.
Cashout Problems on Poker Stars
Is anyone else waiting on a cash out from Poker Stars? I keep forgetting about my cashout and I was reading 2+2 today and noticed other people were complaining about waiting on their money…
I cashed out $100 on 4/16.
On 4/24 I received this email from Poker Stars:

Hello,
We regret to inform you that due to technical difficulties on our eCheck
processor’s end, some of the cashouts we sent for processing from April
14th to April 22nd have been delayed. Unfortunately, your cashout(s) may
be included.
Currently on Tilt: Who plays to get lucky on the river?
The last time I played live I experienced this hand…
1/2 NL HE cash game at the Commerce: I call a raise of $10 from MP with AJ off. There are 2 other players in the pot. The button (original raiser) and the BB. The flop brings Jd-Jc-Qd. The BB checks and I bet $12. Both players call. The turn brings a 3rd low diamond. The BB checks and I bet $20. The Button folds and the BB calls. The river is a 10d. The BB goes all in for $20. I call the $20 into $132 pot feeling like he doesn’t have a diamond… The moron shows pocket 10s. He rivered a full house on me. I asked him how he could call me down to the river knowing he’s beat the whole way.. he said he felt his 10 coming. Ugh!!!
Skill + Luck = A Successful Tournament
Today I headed out to the Bike for their monthly Ladies Tournament. My plan was to raise preflop whenever I wanted to be in the pot when in a good position. I wanted to pick up a lot of small pots early on in order to build my stack. I didn’t want to find myself stressing over the antes and blinds as they began to increase. My starting table (which did not break until we were down to 2.. which was great) included a lot of tight play. Myself and 2 other women picked up on this fast and took down many small pots… and in my case with marginal hands…
Ups and Downs.. a few days of poker
I’ve been playing live poker a lot lately- which is great. Of course, this is coming with some ups and downs. I played a NLHE 1/2 game on Wednesday and posted about my success. I went back to Commerce again on Friday and had another winning session. Friday night was filled with a lot of calling stations and players there “just for fun!”. I hit a lot of flops early on and was up $100 after the first hour. It was easy extracting the most amount from the weak players at the table (ah, I’m missing that hour of play)… Here’s an example of a hand from that night where I felt I dodged a huge bullet…
Finally.. A Success Story
It’s official I just don’t like online poker and that’s ok. I don’t have to. I can play online for fun.. I enjoy playing in the AIPS events (which I will be rushing home for tonight). However, when it comes to what I enjoy about poker and why I started playing.. that’s the live play. I enjoy reading people whether it’s at the poker table or not. I get inside people’s heads and over analyze what makes them make certain decisions. Last night I visited Commerce for a NLHE 1/2 game and came out successful.
Frustrations
Ok, I’m frustrated. I feel like I can’t win right now. I’ve been playing a lot online. I spend about 20-30hrs online in a week. That’s an insane amount of time in front of a screen since I work 40hr weeks on a computer.. which is probably fueling my craziness right now. Despite my last post about focusing on my success in micro stakes NLHE cash games online.. I went against that and went back to MTT and SnGs online. What can I say, I was bored? There’s no big finale in cash games.. I like tournaments.
