Playing in the Cake 150k - Mistake that cost me…
I played last Sunday in the Cake 150k tourney. I recorded the session so that I could watch it again and figure out what I did right and where I could play more optimally. It turns out that I bubbled this thing. I finish 134/1050 and they paid 130. Final hand I get KK and pushed on the EP raiser who both had me covered and held AdKd. He flopped an A. But whatever that is not what I am posting about. I played this hand with AJ in EP and I really screwed myself. Take a look and tell me what you think. BTW, I give my reads audibly.

Why awareness is better than focus, just be the ball Danny!!
OK, the first thing that I want you to do is take this test. It requires that you focus your attention for a about 30 seconds. If you can’t do that then take some Adderall and come back. Obviously I am kidding.

Full Tilt bonus curse!!!
I have not posted here lately because I have not been playing very much and when I do play it has been bad news, and I am not all about bitching about every little beat, does not help to focus on negative and no one cares. It all started when Full Tilt sent me an email offering me $100 bonus. To clear the bonus all that I had to do is play for a certain amount of rake. Does Full Tilt really need to incentivize people to play? Whatever… Ok, so I accept the offer and start playing NLH and PLO. I start out pretty good and cleared the first couple of levels profitably. Then for some reason clearing the bonus and pulling this free money became more important to me than winning. I started to play WAY too much, and at times where I was super tired and making really bad decisions. I friggin tilted!!!! The tilt led to more tilt, and next thing I know I have dropped $300 trying to clear $100. I was pretty sour!! Not to mention that this bonus screws up my rake back!
Focused attention yields results
I was about to go to bead Friday night and then I decided to play the $22 bounty tourney on Cake. $10 goes into the prize pool, $10 towards a bounty that you get whenever you knock out a player. Historically I have done pretty well in this thing, if you consider 6-7 attempts history.
Don’t do drugs… (Adderall)
There has been talk lately on Poker Road Radio’s Big Poker Sunday about poker players that are using Adderall (a medication used to help people with ADD). 
They are using this prescription drug to maintain focus for extended periods of time. Interestingly enough, a lot of celebrities are using Adderall, not not necessarily for focus, but to lose weight. One of the side effects is weight loss, Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie are said to take these things by the fist full. This got me to thinking, could you Imagine what Gavin Smith would look like if he weren’t on Adderall? Dude is beefy…
