I found free MONEY…and the KID IS BACK
I feel like a sadistic madman that I have an incredible story to tell. First, for all that followed the boomer, life is grand. I have a gorgeous 5 month old that took me off the poker felt, and a darling 2 year old who I adore. Both great reasons to withdraw from my passion. That and Money. I took a new gig and thank heaven and crushing it - making more money in 6 months than I have in any year - going very well.
Just hammered
I have taken about 2 months off after the birth of daughter number 2. While its been more work - since now we are down to man to man coverage instead of zone…its also much easier. Anyone who has had #2 will agree.
Finally got through some much needed work and my focus on that aspect of my life has paid off dearly. Just recently I made 2 big scores and hope its the start of something great. I have found that taking time off from the poker grind has made me enjoy my little forays into the poker world so much more enjoyable.
Gone but not forgotten
Just wanted to drop a line and wish all my fellow Poker Sifters a great WSOP. Will be very excited to see or hear someone take down an event. The poker career has been on hiatus as I take care of my 8 week old. Adding another gal to the stable has been a lot of work as we moved from zone to man on man.
Not to be forgotten - I’ve been given the Harrington on Holdem Cash game books which I hope will elevate me.

This is a plug for Bluff Magazine…I was entertained for 5$.
Believe me I am not much of a magazine reader - yesterday I got to my train early and picked up an issue of Bluff Magazine. I have to admit it was a pretty interesting read.
While most of the writers were more like “Blogs” (lol…poke at us at pokersift) they were still pretty interesting. I won’t go into detail on every article but a few stood out. Justin Bounomo (sic) wrote an article about how on line poker and poker in general is going to be much harder to beat in 5 years….due to the development of the player…very interesting. Its sort of like Who moved my Cheese - an excellent personal growth book that came out a few years ago. If your the mouse not hunting for new cheese well - you better watch out.
On the looooong road to victory
First, a big thanks to those that sent along good wishes, some tips and general positive energy as I make my run up (and down) the super Nova Highway. Its been a real challenge so far - a great excercise in futility…and lots of lessons on how to succeed in poker. Many of those lesson coming the “hard way”. I want to reach Super Nova and its a ways away so I have to set some intermediate goals.
First my goals….by Christmas.
Getting ripped off, Poker software and Cheating is stealing
A couple of general ramblings….
First, my poker update. Discovered the joy of cash games. I would say I primarily have been a SNG player, some MTTs and maybe the other 1/3 of the time a cash game player. Lately, I’ve spent so much time playing on line that I wandered into a decent size cash game, and took it down. Granted I played some great cards, but truth is there are so many more poor card players at those cash games, who just throw out the money - it fits with my style.
If everything seems to be going well, you’ve obviously overlooked something
My wife would never understand. To her - poker is a card game, a diversion. She has been really supportive, and lets me do my thing, so I really couldn’t ask for a better “poker” partner. To be honest, she’d be a great player. She is smart as a whip, wise, clever, patient and I know would kick my ass if she ever took it up. She already dominates me on the golf course so stay out of my poker world dear. The one skill she has is that she would be incredibly disciplined. Nothing crazy…guess where this blog is going.

Okay, so here is the big step up in levels. Moving up from 3$ rebuy’s to 10$ MTT.
The game is a foot and we shall see how I fare. I’ll be posting the key hands here…
On the road to the SuperNova
So where to begin. Poker has treated me pretty well lately. I devoted a great deal of time recently relearning the game - I’ve donated a lot over the years and think I am ready to shed the donkey/fish in me and start to be known as a bit of a predator - at least at the penny games…lol. The Bankroll is definitely on the rise…and I hope my last is deposit behind me.
The big break through win tonight
Feeling pretty good so I was messing around today with some new concepts. Watched some great video’s on MTT play and feeling a little bold. Playing in the 11$ 20k guarantee tonight…and will be posting my interesting hands here on pokersift.
