The Main Event Final Table Videos

If you haven’t seen the final table for the World Series of Poker 2008 Main Event, you can catch the videos below.

Lame (duck) UIGEA

So the UIGEA passed in its final form now (link). I’m sad, really really sad. Why is it that now that I finally am making a money at online poker the US tries to do this in a lame duck session? I don’t even understand how anybody thought prohibition of anything would be a good thing?  Please, pretty please, Pokerstars, Full Tilt, Cake, please don’t leave the US. Please don’t make me cash out.

And the winner is…

Avert your eyes if you haven’t seen it already….

Peter Eastgate defeated Ivan Demidov heads-up to win the main event. Chip leader Dennis Phillips finished fifth (I think). Too bad as I was hoping for another Moneymaker-style boom due to a fairly average-looking middle-aged midwestern guy winning it instead of some young gun in a Full Tilt cap. Oh well.

The WSOP on ESPN

As a spectator, having the final table play months after the main event is obviously anticlimactic. To combat this, I saved up the last five main event episodes to watch during this week before the final table is televised. This way, I will be fully entrenched and excited to watch some multi-million-dollar -winning action. I still have two episodes left before I am caught up, but I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the coverage.
