A Few Not So Proud Words
Poker, lately, has been a struggle and the worst part (or maybe the best) is that I’ve been playing a lot. I really love playing. There’s been so much going on in my personal life in the past few months and poker has become my place I go to.. escape.. yeah maybe.. I still feel like I’ve been playing well but I’ve really been losing a lot. I’m a bit disgusted with myself..
Long time no write
Poker players have got to be one of the worst population of bloggers. The ones that do write exciting blogs (Shamus, I’m looking at you, kid!) are writers from the get-go. What I’m trying to say is that when you play poker, you are trying to escape the monotony, the 9-5, the rules and the routine, so writing an interesting and current poker blog is damn hard. My hat is off to the guys I have on my RSS feed. I also love the stories more than the hands. Too many bad beats in hand posts and you know that if you want bad beats all you have to do is go to the smoking area at the doors of the Commerce.
I found free MONEY…and the KID IS BACK
I feel like a sadistic madman that I have an incredible story to tell. First, for all that followed the boomer, life is grand. I have a gorgeous 5 month old that took me off the poker felt, and a darling 2 year old who I adore. Both great reasons to withdraw from my passion. That and Money. I took a new gig and thank heaven and crushing it - making more money in 6 months than I have in any year - going very well.
John McCain and legalized gambling
Well US election season is upon us and while gambling isn’t the most pressing issue - I can think of a few more important ones - it’s finally surfaced in the campaign coverage.
I ran across an interesting series of articles on John McCain’s ties to the Native casino industry. I’m no McCain supporter, far from it, but I thought I’d post these if people were interested in his history with the gaming business.
Apparently he’s a gambler himself, though not a poker player - he prefers the craps tables.
